Bismarck, D. T. June 28, 1879

Dear Wife

We arrived here all right but I was disappointed in not getting a letter   I wrote to you from Jim River and told you to write to me here   our Stock are all fat and I Like this place very well what I seen of it  it is a good town full of Life and Money   I wasent in town yet when  man wanted to buy cattle of me and dident know wheather I had any or not

I think we will Stay here Some place as it is the best place we seen Since we left  I met Lots of acquaintances and I ant 2 hours in town yet   there is lots of timber and prarie here and there is lots of cattle here   they dont feed hardly any here in winter   I have got a Pony for you   We found 2 about 75 miles from any body and dont expect to find any owner   Let me know how the crops are and all the news

Hoping to hear from you Soon I Remain your Loving Husband
