Federal Review

Under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, federal agencies and their delegates must consult with the State Historic Preservation Office, Tribal Historic Preservation Offices (THPOs), local governments, applicants and interested individuals and groups.

State Review

Historic and prehistoric sites that are found or located upon any land owned by the state or its political subdivision and are significant in understanding and interpreting the history and prehistory of the state is subject to review by the State Historical Society (NDCC 55-02-07)

Case Studies

View projects that have been reviewed under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. These projects involved consultation between federal agencies and tribal, state and local agencies and groups during the planning of these projects which affect historic properties.

We are closed New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. We are closed at noon Christmas Eve if it falls on Mon.-Thurs. and are closed all day if it falls on Fri.-Sun.
