Title: Buffalo Trails Museum Oral History and Film

Dates: 1949-2007

Collection Number:  MSS 11193

Quantity: 1.5 feet

Abstract: Consists of cassette tapes and some transcripts of interviews of pioneers from Epping and the surrounding area. Also includes three 16mm films from the Lloyd Bjella family of area events and vacations to California and Canada, including the Epping High School band performing in the Calgary Stampede parade.

Provenance: The collection was donated to the State Historical Society of North Dakota by Shelly Alexander of the Buffalo Trails Museum in 2013. The project originated as part of the Bicentennial Oral History Project from the 1970s. Interviews went beyond this project and it was determined to create a separate collection. The Bjella film was brought to Ms. Alexander by Greg Bjella.
