ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY
Organized in February 1982, the Dairy Women of North Dakota aimed to promote the dairy industry through better producer-processor-consumer relations, increased product consumption, and encouraging members to remain informed and active on legislative issues concerning the dairy industry. Dairy women gathered and operated as local units, or by themselves. Due to the distance between members, the individual approach to promotion gained strength. Projects included keeping the “REAL” Seal in the public eyes, pushing milk vs. carbonated beverages, and emphasizing the body’s need for calcium.
