Abstract: The papers give an account of some of Mr. Jacobson’s work with the Bureau of Reclamation and the state, including design drafts, standards, reports, maps, surveys, and publications. They also include photographs from scrapbooks and albums from Jacobson’s work at the Kenmare (ND) CCC camp and as supervisor of the camp in Arkansas, a biennial report from the State Engineer to the Governor, and items of ephemera including letterhead from the Rainbow Gardens in Carrington. Also includes a framed hand tinted black and white portrait of Magdalena (Schempp) Delzer, grandmother of Myrtle (Wilson) Jacobson.
Provenance: The papers were donated to the State Historical Society of North Dakota by Jacobson’s daughter Kaye Salverda in April 1997.

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Bayert Jacobson was born January 25, 1905, in DeKalb (IL), the son of Rev. and Mrs. Oscar Jacobson. He graduated from Bismarck High School and Huron College (Huron, SD). He married Myrtle Wilson at Wibaux (MT) July 26, 1934. He was with the Bureau of Reclamation from 1944 until his death in 1967.He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite bodies, El Zagal Shrine and the El Zagal Plainsmen. In addition to his wife, he was survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Kaye) Salverda, four grandchildren, one brother, and four sisters.
