Abstract: Records consist of annual convention minutes and reports, constitution, correspondence, organizational history, records of the Florence Crittenden home, activities, scrapbooks, obituaries, news clippings, printed material, financial records, songbooks, photographs and post cards, audio visual material, and records of local and
district chapters. Also includes minutes and reports from the annual meetings of the WCTU of Dakota (1884-1889).
Provenance: The collection was donated in various increments beginning in the 1950s. A gift agreement was signed by Jeannette Waldie and Helen McCleary on August 23, 1995. This finding aid was created by Emily E. Schultz in February 2012.
Property Rights: The State Historical Society of North Dakota owns the property rights to this collection.

Transfer: Photographs were transferred to the State Archives Photograph Collections in August 1982 and February 1986. Eight artifacts were transferred to the Museum Division in March 1982. See case file for details. Material was also transferred from the Liessman manuscript collection (10113). Publications and additional artifacts were offered to the State Archives Publications and to the Museums Division in February 2012. Correspondence and photographs from Era Bell Thompson to Mrs. Charles Liessman were removed and added to MSS 20673.
