BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
From the Grafton News and Times, Wednesday April 10, 1929

At the age of 73 Frank Vorachek, for four years county treasurer of Walsh County, passed away at his home in Conway Sunday following a brief illness. Mrs. Vorachek was with him at the end.

Frank Voracheck, a prominent figure in the councils of the Democratic party of Walsh County for many years, was a native of Bohemia, which is now part of Czechoslovakia. His parents, Joseph and Annie Vorachek, emigrated with their family to this country in 1859, landing at New Orleans. They located in St. Louis, Mo. and later moved to Iowa. They came west in 1881 when the influx to Dakota Territory was at its height and settled in Walsh County. Here the parents died.

For the first three years Mr. Vorachek followed farming. He then embarked in the mercantile business which he conducted with marked success. In January 1885, Mr. Vorachek was married to Miss Mary Bina, who also was a native of Bohemia. There were five children born to this union, two sons and three daughters. One of the sons died when young, and the other son Frank died at Mandan three or four years ago. The daughters are: Pauline, teaching in Los Angeles; Lillian living in the state of Washington; and Mrs. George Holman of Forest River.

From the Tri-County News, Fordville, Thursday April 18, 1929

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon from the C. Z. B. J. lodge hall at Conway for F. E. Vorachek, pioneer resident, who passed away on the preceding Sunday following a heart attack. He had been sick for about three weeks.

Frank Voracheck was born in 1856 in Bohemia, coming to this country when five years of age. He first settled at Acton, N.D., later filing on a homestead near the present village of Fordville. About 45 years ago he moved to Conway where he entered the general merchandise business retiring from same in 1915 since which time he has made his home in Conway. He held the office of county treasurer of Walsh County for four years and was interested in everything that meant progress and advancement to North Dakota.

Mr. Vorachek is survived by his wife and three daughters, Miss Pauline Vorachek, a teacher in the Los Angeles schools, Mrs. G. E. Holman, Forst River, and Mrs. N. Hodge of Worland, Wyoming, and by one grandchild, Polly Ann Holman. He is also survived by three brothers, Jos. of Lankin, James of Fordville, and John of Thief River Falls, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Anna Blasky of Mahnomen, Minn.

He was a member of the C. Z. B. J. lodge at Conway and of the Woodmen lodges of Conway and of Grafton.
