Abstract: Photographs taken by Alan Woolworth, State Historical Society of North Dakota Archaeologist, between October 1953 and July of 1954, of the homes, schools and ferry near Elbowoods prior to the rising waters after completion of Garrison Dam. Also includes the dismantling of the Elbowoods Bridge and inundation of Elbowoods (N.D.) by the waters of the Missouri River after construction of the Garrison Dam. Some of the images are aerials Woolworth took while on a flight with Captain Samuel Gurke of the North Dakota National Guard.
Provenance: The State Historical Society of North Dakota acquired this collection from Alan Woolworth in 1953 and 1954.
