Biographical Sketch
    Adam S. Haas was born in Pennsylvania in 1843. He was a  Private in Pennsylvania Infantry Co. C from Aug. 8, 1862 to May 16, 1863. He  was wounded with a gunshot to the shoulder. In 1871 he married Hannah M.  Miller. Their first child was Walter Henry Hass, born in Pennsylvania in 1872.  He was married to Jennie Hass and they lived in Grand Valley, Dickey County  (ND).
The next child, William C. Haas was born in Pennsylvania on March 13, 1874. In 1900 he was single, living in Cherry Grove, Emmons County (ND). He was married to Ruth Mabel Smith in 1907 and they lived in Ellendale (ND). In 1920 he and Ruth were in Ada (ND) and he operated a retail hardware store .
After William came George, 1876-1920; Frank J. 1880-?; Mary Katherine ‘Kit’, 1883-?; and Ruth Mae, 1895-?
