UNIVERSITY SYSTEM
The North Dakota University System is a unified system of higher education governed by the State Board of Higher Education. Organized in 1990, the system includes two research universities, four regional universities and five community colleges.
Led by the chancellor, the NDUS staff supports the State Board of Higher Education's mission to enhance the quality of life for all those served by the NDUS as well as the economic and social vitality of North Dakota.
Each campus offers different learning and living experiences, and all share a commitment to excellence and personal and professional growth. Whether students are preparing to provide health care, teach math, manage businesses, conduct research or overhaul trucks, when they leave our campuses they are prepared to be the best in their fields.
North Dakota University System councils make recommendations to the chancellor and campus presidents about system-wide issues. The councils generally are made up of NDUS staff members and campus administrators and include: Academic Affairs Council, Administrative Affairs Council, Chief Information Officer’s Council, Human Resources Council, Diversity Council, Public Affairs Council, and Student Affairs Council.
