BISMARCK – The public is invited to a day of individual and family activities on Saturday, March 14, commemorating National Quilters’ Day. Quilt ‘til You Drop! events will take place at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
All events, except for quilting classes, are free and open to the public. They are sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota and the Capital Quilters of Bismarck.
The event will feature classes and a quilt show. Capital Quilters of Bismarck will conduct quilting classes from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. with their quilting instructors including Michelle Ripplinger, Evelyn Buchfink, Marlene Sapa and Jenny Yearous, all members of the Capital Quilters. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required with a small registration fee. During Open Sewing throughout the day, quilters are welcome to work on their own projects sewing projects or finish a class project. Space is limited so registration is required. A quilt show showcasing talents of the Capital Quilters will be at the North Dakota Heritage Center from Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 15.
Since 1981, the Capital Quilters have participated in numerous quilt shows, displays and demonstrations.
