History Day Camps Featured at Fort Totten State Historic Site

DEVILS LAKE ó History day camps will be offered free of charge at Fort Totten State Historic Site for youth in grades four through eight this summer. Each of the three sessions will focus on the history and culture of the Dakota people, military life on the frontier, and toys of the past, with a different topic presented each day. Hands-on activities and lectures will expand the studentís knowledge and provide a completed project to take home each day.

  • Session 1: June 18-20 (Grades 3-4)
  • Session 2: July 23-25 (Grades 5-6)
  • Session 3: August 20-22 (Grades 7-8)

All sessions will take place from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., with lunch provided for the students. Each class is limited to 20 individuals, and participants may pre-register or register the day of the event.
