Complimentary refreshments will be provided for visitors.
Tours of the haunted fort will take place every 30 minutes. “We are excited to present this walk through scary history,” said Nick Gronseth, Fort Totten State Historic Site supervisor. “Our staff is greatly looking forward to dressing up in costumes and providing a fun event for Halloween entertainment.”
The fort was built between 1867 and 1873 as a military outpost, but it served for most of its history as an Indian boarding and community school, from 1891 to 1959.
