Fort Buford and Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center to host public programs
Fort Buford--The Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center will be hosting several events in August. All of the events are free and open to the public.
August 7 Meet other history buffs in an interesting discussion of the month’s selected book. The Fort Buford History Book Club gathers at the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Center. Please call in advance if you will be joining us.
August 15-16 Join the Confluence Quilters for their monthly meeting from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. CDT. Quilters of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate.
August 17 Concert at the Confluence, 3 p.m., featuring Gettin' Outta Dodge overlooking one of North Dakota's most beautiful natural sights.
August 22-24 Encampment with the 6th Infantry at Fort Buford. The telegraph will be demonstrated as well as the daily life of a Fort Buford soldier.
August 23 Cowboy Poets at the Confluence from 1-5 p.m. CDT. Come and listen to the stories and wisdom of cowboys including Terry Schwartz, Bill Lowman, DW Grothe, Bob Peterman, and more.
The Missouri Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center is located 22 miles southwest of Williston at Fort Buford. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. CDT daily. Fort Buford State Historic Site is open daily from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. CDT
