Fort Mandan State Historic Site is temporarily closed for maintenance until further notice.
In every war or police action that has occurred in what is now North Dakota, the men and women of the territory/state reported for duty in all branches of the military. North Dakota soldiers have served in roles ranging from privates to the Joint Chiefs of Staff; but, no matter their station, from the dense tropical jungles of the Philippines to the poppy-covered fields of Belgium and even to the deserts of Iraq, they have served with distinction and honor.
