Abstract: Black and white photographs and postcards that belonged to the Anna C. Splittgerber (Thompson), including railroad construction and activity, and main streets in Fairmount, Makoti, and Lidgerwood (N.D.), ca. 1910s-1937.

Provenance: The collection was donated to the State Historical Society of North Dakota by Marvia Ann Boettcher on January 9, 2009, and transferred to the Archives by the Museum Division of the SHSND (#2009.00002).

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Anna was born on February 17, 1891 in Minnesota, the daughter of Charles F. and Charlotte (Schultz) Splittgerber. Her siblings included Lena (Albert) Schierman, August M (Dorothea) Splittgerber, Mary L (August) Weiss, Alvina Mary (George Reedy/Stephen Hall) Hall, Amanda (Robert) Beske, Fred C Splittgerber, Henry Otto (Thelma) Splittgerber, & Minnie Emma (Christian) Nelson. Anna married Charles Thompson on November 17, 1914 in Otter Tail County, MN. They were the parents of Marvin M., Darryl E., and Charlotte M. Anna passed away June 25, 1987 in North Dakota.
