Abstract: Consists of photographs of Marie and her husband Ernest, a biography questionnaire compiled for the Bismarck Tribune, records of the Bismarck Women’s Chorus, and two scrapbooks documenting the North Dakota Nonpartisan League.

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Marie R. (Dusek) Durey was born May 9, 1992, to Joseph and Anna (Ruzicka) Dusek and attended St. Procopois Schools in Chicago. She was married to Ernest Durey on August 2, 1910, in Chicago, and they lived in Manchester, IA, until 1913 when they moved to Ellendale (ND). The couple moved to Bismarck in 1933.

Mrs. Durey had been a music teacher and was a past state president of the NonPartisan League. She was a member of the Elkettes and the Sisters to the Independent Oddfellows and Modern Woodmen. She made her home at the Patterson Hotel for many years before moving to St. Vincent’s Nursing Home. She passed away April 21, 1973.
