Biographical Sketch – Alfred and Anna C. Peterson Anderson, son of Peter and Karen Anderson and daughter of Eric and Carrie Peterson, married in 1901 at Atwater, Mn.

Mr. Anderson came to N.D. in the spring of 1906 to build a house on his homestead on which he had filed earlier. It was located one mile north west of the present site of Carson, near that of his father-in-law, R. E. Peterson. Later he returned to Atwater to bring back his wife and two daughters. They arrived at Sims, N.D. on Thanksgiving Day. There they were met by Mr. Peterson and the remainder of the journey was made by team and buggy. In a railroad car they shipped to Sims their household furnishings, which also included a reed organ, farm machinery, five horses, two cows and some chickens.

In 1910 with the coming of the railroad, they sold their homestead and built the Carson Hotel. During the next 8 years they operated the hotel, an auto livery service and owned and farmed land just east of Carson.
