Provenance: The State Historical Society of North Dakota acquired this collection from Fanny Slattery and Mame Slattery De Zychlinski in June 1945.

Biographical Sketch
From the Bismarck Tribune, Friday, November 9, 1945

Miss Fanny Slattery, 66, 522 Second St., died at a local hospital Thursday evening. She had been a patient at the hospital for a month.

Mis Slattery was born in Bismarck July 29, 1876 and attended grade and high schools here. For 35 years she was employed in the state department of agriculture, state tax commission and superintendent of public instruction.

Miss Slattery was the daughter of Michael P. and Ann Slattery. Her father, a former postmaster, came here in 1872. Her mother came here on the first train over the Northern Pacific Railroad. Mr. Slattery died in 1914. Her mother died in 1922.

Two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Conway and Miss Ann, preceded her in death. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Mary De Zychilinski, 609 Fourth St., and one brother Daniel, Glendale, Calif.

Miss Slattery lived at 522 Second St. for 63 years in a house her father built in 1882. At the time of her death she had been living at 423 Fifth St.

Funeral services have been set for 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s church with Rev. Elwood Cassidy officiating. A rosary led by Mrs. Francis Halloran will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Hall funeral home.
